i have yet to speak about the Indian subcontinent in my blog, about that enchanting magic that carries people’s souls to a delicate trance…….not sure what it is about it that makes it magical, is it the sun the spices the smells the sounds the colours. Not even the thoughts of deadly diseases and shocking poverty have managed to tarnish the magical image the place still holds in our minds (well at least most of the time……..come on don’t tell me you don’t dream just a little bit when watching a Aishwarya Rai/Hrithik Roshan Hindi film. or you would still be dreaming of mythical Goa if you are a die hard hippie………..ok fine you would be a super liar if you told me you didn’t dream of the first bite when you have just ordered a chicken tikka masala).
Anyhow, enough about the tandoori flavoured post. I wanted to share a couple of sayings from 1 great man and 1 great woman who hail from that continent who have both devoted their lives to humanity, i wonder what made them so great was it the Indian sun or just the curry diet……..either way…read, enjoy and give your mind and mouth some peace
“in the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after truth”
“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass – grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence….We need silence to be able to touch souls”
